TBC - Kingdom National Schools Programme
Tatweer Buildings Company (TBC) is undertaking the construction of 1620 schools in various regions of Saudi Arabia.
The project is planned to be developed in different phases.
The US$6,300 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of schools
a. Construction of 60 schools in Jeddah and Mecca under Wave 1
b. Construction of 60 schools in Medina under Wave 2
c. Construction of 1500 schools in Eastern Province
2. Construction of offices
3. Construction of classrooms
4. Construction of multipurpose halls
5. Construction of facilities to accommodate children with special needs
6. Construction of catering facilities
7. Development of specialist teaching areas
8. Construction of associated facilities

The following companies have submitted bids for Phase 2 : Ajyad Knowledge Education & Training, Alfanar, Alkifah Holding, Alrajhi Building Solutions, Consortium of Al-Bawani and Tamasuk Holding, Lamar Holding, Masic , Nesma Holding.

The main contract bids have been extended from July 27, 2021 to August 27, 2021 for Phase II of the project.

Th construction works are progressing on Phase I and is expected to be complete by 2023, followed by 20 years of maintenance provided by the private sector and the main contract bids For Phase II has been extended from June 30, 2021 to July 27, 2021.

The Phase 1 project has achieved financial closure and the construction works are progressing as per schedule.

Hill International has been appointed for the facilities management (FM) consultancy services on Kingdom National Schools Programme Phase 3.

A consortium of the local Ajyad Knowledge for Education & Training and Al-Bawani Company has been confirmed for the first wave of Saudi Arabiaâs national schools public-private partnership (PPP) programme.

Phase 1: Al Bawani, Vision Invest, Al-Balagha, Al-Rajhi Holding and MASIC (Mohammed al-Subeaei & Sons Investment Company) have submitted the bids for the project. Vision Invest, formerly Acwa Holding, has submitted the lowest bid. Ajyad Knowledge for Education & Training is understood to be the project company formed by Vision Invest in this scheme with Al Bawani. Phase 2: The client aims to announce the results of the RFQ for Wave 2 of the PPP Program to finance, design, build and facility manage 60 schools in Madinah during the coming weeks.
