Iraq Government along with TotalEnergies (45%), QatarEnergy (25%), Iraq’s National oil company, and the Basrah Oil Company (30%) is undertaking the construction of the Gas Growth Integrated Project (GGIP) in southern Iraq.

The Project is divided into four different stages. It includes CSSP, AGUP, GMP, and 1GW Solar Energy Project.

The US$27000 million project includes the following:

Common Seawater Supply Project (CSSP):

1. Construction of de-oxygenation tower and boosting pumps

2. Construction of a water disposal unit

3. Construction of a water handling and injection system

4. Construction of eight interconnecting stations and 10 delivery stations

5. Installation of high-flow water injection pumps

6. Installation of sand filters

7. Laying of 426km pipeline

8. Drilling of injection well & separation challenges

9. Installation of process monitoring and control systems

10. Construction of seawater treatment plant (1192404m3/day)

11. Construction of seawater intake facility

12. Construction of a power plant (430MW)

13. Construction of pumping stations

14. Construction of pre & post-treatment facilities

15. Construction of chemical units

16. Installation of dual media filter

17. Installation of the polishing filter

18. Installation of the safety filter

19. Construction of accommodations and administration buildings

20. Construction of potable water & sewage treatment systems

21. Construction of public amenities

Associated Gas Upstream Project:

1. Upgrade of existing gas flare tips with new tips

2. Upgrade of the existing steam system

3. Installation of new steam pipeline

4. Construction of an acid gases injection well

5. Construction of a wastewater injection well

6. Construction of a building of separation, stabilizing and sweetening facilities of gas condensates

7. Construction of a storage tank for gas condensates

8. Associated facilities.

Artawi Oil Field Development (Central Gas Complex in Artawi)/ GMP:

1. Construction of gas complex

Artawi Oil Field Development: Central Gas Complex: The main contract bids has been submitted & the bids are under evaluation.

Artawi Oil Field Development (Central Gas Complex in Artawi): KBR has completed the front-end engineering and design (feed) work for the project. The tendering process is ongoing and several international contractors are interested in ultimately submitting the bids for the project. Artawi 1000 MW Solar PV Plant: China Energy Engineering International Group has been awarded the main contract. Common Seawater Supply Project (CSSP): Total Energies and Hyundai E&C are in discussion regarding Hyundai's potential involvement in a $2.45 billion water treatment plant package within the project.

For the Associated Gas Upstream Project: Phase 1 package: The front-end engineering design (FEED), detailed design, procurement support, and construction and commissioning assistance contract worth US$46 million has been awarded to the Wood Group.
