Saudi Aramco is undertaking the construction of Gas Compression Facilities as a part of the commercialization of unconventional resources in Jafurah, Saudi Arabia.

The US$2240 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of three grass-root gas compression plants (GCPs) namely GCPs (HAZEM-6, THRY-5, and THRY-9), with a size of approximately 400x400 meters and a capacity of 200 million standard cubic feet per day

2. Construction of gas treatment facility

3. Installation of water treatment device

4. Process and utility work on the GCP Inlet area

5. Installation of a 230kV Gas Substation

6. Installation of power transformer

7. Installation of safety equipment

8. Installation of other utility units

9. Installation of piping systems

10. Construction of other associated facilities

A consortium of Técnicas Reunidas and Sinopec Group has been appointed as the main contractor for the project. (Source: MEED)

25 July 2024

The client has signed a non-binding letter of intent (LoI) with a joint venture between Técnicas Reunidas and Sinopec for the development of the project.

04 June 2024

Técnicas Reunidas, Larsen & Toubro, Sinopec, and JGC Corporation have submitted bids and the main contract is yet to be awarded.

29 January 2024

The main contract tender is issued with submission due by the end of April 2024. The following companies are likely to submit bids for the project: Samsung Engineering, Hyundai E&C, Saipem, Tecnimont, GS Engineering, Sinopec, Técnicas Reunidas, Larsen & Toubro, and JGC Corporation. Wood Group is working as front end engineering design consultant (FEED) for the project.
