RCRC - Riyadh Metro: Extension of Line 2
The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), formerly known as the ArRiyadh Development Authority (ADA), is planning to undertake the extension of Line 2 with passengers capacity of 20,000 an hour as part of Metro network project in Riyadh city, Saudi Arabia.
The line will run from where the Line 2 currently ends at King Saud University (KSU) and then onward to new stations like KSU Medical City, KSU West, Diriyah East, Diriyah Central (here it will interchange with the the planned Line 7) and then finally Diriyah South.
The US$900 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of an 8.4 km-long metro line
a. Construction of 1.3km elevated metro line
b. Construction of 7.1km underground metro line
2. Construction of five metro stations
a. Construction of 2 elevated stations
b. Construction of 3 underground stations
3. Infrastructure works
4. Installation of track lines
5. Installation of the signaling system
6. Civil works
7. Construction of associated facilities
