SWPC - Riyadh to Qassim Independent Water Transmission Pipeline (IWTP)
Saudi Water Partnership Company (SWPC) is planning to undertake the Independent Water Transmission Pipeline (IWTP) from Riyadh to Qassim in Saudi Arabia.
The project is part of government's plan to interconnect regions across the Kingdom and ensure a reliable and sustainable water supply. The project will integrate solar power solutions to reduce carbon emissions while relying on the grid.
The project will be implemented under a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) model.
The US$1970 million project includes the following:
1. Installation of 859 km water transmission pipeline from Riyadh to Buraydah (Al Shamisiyah) with a contracted Capacity of 685,000 m3/day
2. Construction of branch lines with a capacity of 480,000 m3/day and 340,000 m3/day."
3. Construction of 6 strategic storage tanks in Riyadh with a total capacity of 1,020,000 cubic meters
4. Construction of 32 operational tanks along the pipeline route with a total capacity of 571,000 cubic meters
5. Construction of pumping stations
6. Construction of lifting stations
7. Construction of filling station
8. Construction of potable water with a storage capacity of 1,591000m3
9. Installation of water cooling system
10. Installation of valves
11. Installation of SCADA system
12. Installation of meter connections
13. Construction of other associated facilities
