ADNOC Offshore is undertaking the development of the expansion of the Upper Zakum Offshore Field Development in Abu Dhabi, the UAE.

The project is being developed in three packages: I, II, and III.

The project is also known as UZ 1.5MMBD.

The project is located 84 kilometres offshore in Abu Dhabi. Upper Zakum is the world’s second-largest offshore oil field and fourth-largest oil field & the objective of the project is to increase the asset’s oil production potential to 1.5 million barrels a day (b/d).

The US$16,998 million project includes the following:

Package I:

1. Installation of an integrated gas lift compression system

2. Installation of gas dehydration and vapour recovery units

3. Installation of seawater intake pumps

4. Installation of seawater filtration system

5. Installation of electrochlorination package

6. Installation of instrument air and air dryer packages

7. Installation of nitrogen generation and chemical injection packages

8. Installation of pipe racks and modular rooms

9. Construction of associated facilities

Package II:

1. Installation of a gas lift compression system to enhance gas production

2. Installation of gas dehydration and vapour recovery units to process gas

3. Installation of seawater intake pumps and a filtration system for the water supply

4. Installation of the electrochlorination package for water treatment

5. Installation of instrument air and air dryer packages for operational support

6. Installation of nitrogen generation and chemical injection packages for process control

7. Installation of pipe racks and modular rooms for infrastructure support

8. Laying of onshore pipeline and associated tie-ins for gas transport

9. Upgradation of multiple decks at gas lift platforms for operational efficiency

10. Construction storage facilities and lay infield pipelines

Package III:

1. Installation of gas lift compression system

2. Installation of seawater intake pumps and filtration system

3. Installation of instrument air and air dryer packages

4. Installation of nitrogen generation and chemical injection packages

5. Installation of onshore pipeline and tie-ins

6. Upgradation of multiple decks at gas lift platforms

7. Construction of gas dehydration and vapour recovery units

8. Construction of electrochlorination package

9. Construction of pipe racks and modular rooms
