Svevind - 20GW Green Hydrogen Plant in Kazakhstan
Svevind is planning to undertake the development of a green hydrogen production plant in the Mangystau region of Western Kazakhstan.
This is one of the region's major green hydrogen projects.
The US$54083 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of green hydrogen (20GW)
2. Construction of a desalination plant (255,000 cu m per day)
3. Construction of a 40 GW renewable energy station (wind, solar)
4. Construction of storage units
5. Construction of a processing unit
6. Construction of distribution units
7. Installation of process heater systems
8. Infrastructure works
9. Installation of an electrolyzer
10. Installation of air compressor
11. Installation of hydrogen compressors
12. Construction of associated facilities

The preliminary front-end engineering and design (Pre-FEED) activities are expected to commence soon for the project. The design documentation is expected to be completed by 2026 and the construction works are expected to be commenced by 2027. The project is expected to be completed by 2032.

Test drilling has been launched on the project and Technip Energies has been appointed as the FEED consultant.

The client has signed an agreement with Fortescue Future Industries for the further development of the project.

Hyrasia One, a subsidiary of Svevind has secured an investment agreement for the further development of the project.
