The Kuwait Ministry of Electricity and Water (MoEW) is undertaking the supply and installation of 400kV Overhead Lines (OHL) from Khairan - Wafra Z - Sulaibiya Z in Kuwait.

Tender no: MEW/61/2020/2021

The US$173 million project includes the following:

1. Laying of 400kV voltage Overhead Lines (OHL)

2. Laying of pilot cables

3. Installation of conductors

4. Laying of armor wires

5. Installation of sheath voltage limiters

6. Installation of safety and protection system

7. Construction of other associated facilities

Larsen & Toubro has been appointed as the main contractor with a contract value of US$173.06 million.

The following companies have submitted the bids: Larsen & Toubro(US$ 175.6 million), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (US$ 177.3 million), Hyundai E&C (US$ 177.6 million),National Contracting Company(US$ 186.3 million), Elsewedy (US$ 193.6million), Kalpataru Power Transmission Limited(US$ 209.5 million), Hydrotek Engineering Company(US$ 238.5 million). The bids are still under evaluation and is likely to be awarded to Larsen & Toubro.
