Qatargas is planning the development of gas compression facilities as a part of the North Field Production Sustainability project in Qatar.

The gas compression complexes will be called ‘CP65’ & ‘CP75’ and will weigh 62,000 tonnes and 63,000 tonnes, respectively.

The package is also known as EPCI 2.

The US$5,625 million project includes the following:

1. Installation of two large gas compression complexes

2. Installation of accommodation platforms (Nos. 2)

3. Installation of flare platforms (Nos. 2)

4. Installation of jackets

5. Installation of topsides

6. Installation of interface modules

7. Construction of decks

8. Construction of bridges

9. Construction of associated facilities

Bomesc has been appointed as the compression facility sub- contractor with a contract value of $220 million for the project.

Saipem is awarded as the main contractor for the project with a contract value of US$4500 million. The main scope of work on the package covers engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) works on two large gas compression complexes.
