ADNOC - Ruwais Low Carbon LNG Terminal Project
ADNOC Gas Processing is undertaking the development of an LNG Terminal in Ruwais. This project involves constructing a plant that will add 9.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of liquefaction capacity and will be the first electric LNG plant in the MENA region.
The new plant is expected to enable the monetization of an additional 1.5 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of sales gas stream, enhance the overall product mix, contribute to UAE's gas export capability, and enable ADNOC's downstream industrialization plans. Once completed, ADNOC Gas Processing may acquire the project from ADNOC.
This project is separate from ADNOC Gas Procesing's operations and focuses on inventing methane in a higher-return clean fuel to global markets targeting near net-zero CO2 emissions. It will be the first electric LNG plant in the MENA region. It will also maximize 1,500 mmscfd of sales gas from AGP. The project is located in Al Ruwais Industrial City, Abu Dhabi location.
This project is one of the most important oil and gas projects in the MENA region
The US$5500 million project involves the following:
1. Construction of two trains with a capacity of 4.8 million t/y each
2. Laying of a 52-inch pipeline; 364km
3. Construction of process units
4. Construction of storage tanks
5. Construction of export jetty and LNG bunkering facility
6. Installation of flare handling system
7. Installation of utilities
8. Construction of other associated buildings
