Saudi Aramco is planning to undertake the construction of the gas compression plant as a part of the Commercialisation of Unconventional Resources Jafurah Gas Plant in Saudi Arabia.

The US$1,000 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of three gas compression plants with the production capacity of 600mmscfd (raw gas) and 150mbd (condensate gas)

a. Installation of depressurizing vessel

b. Installation of HP/LP separator

c. Installation of gas compressor knockout drums

d. Installation of flare system

c. Installation of condensate transfer pumps

2. Construction of associated utilities and infrastructure

a. Construction of fire water system

3. Construction of three 230kV gas insulated substation (GIS)

a. Installation of 13.8kV switch gas

4. Construction of 2 operation support building at North & South Jafurah field

5. Installation of RO systems

a. Installation of water lines

b. Installation of water pumps and other utilities

6. Installation of electrical systems

7. Installation of instrumentation and process automated system

8. Construction of water injection facility with the handling capacity of 100mbd

9. Construction of associated facilities

Larsen & Toubro has been appointed as the main contractor on the project.

19 September 2021

The main contract bids are still under evaluation.

19 July 2021

The following companies have submitted the main contract bids for the project: Hyundai E&C, L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering, JGC Corporation, and Saipem. (Source: MEED)

The client has revived the project and the contractors are expected to resubmit the main contract bids. The revised bid submission date is yet to be disclosed by the client.

Wood Group is working as the Project Management Consultant (PMC) and the project is expected to be commissioned by 2023.

The PQ submission has taken place and JGC Corporation, L&T Hydrocarbons, Tecnicas Reunidas, Saipem, McDermott International, Hyundai E&C have submitted the PQ documents.

The SOI has been issued and Wood Group is working as the FEED contractor for the project.
