Saudi Aramco - Commercialisation of Unconventional Resources: Jafurah
Saudi Aramco is planning to undertake the development of the Jafurah gas field as a part of Commercialisation of Unconventional Resources Program in Saudi Arabia.
The US$6,000 million project includes the following:
A. Processing Plant
1. Construction of 2 gas separation trains with the capacity of 1100mmscfd
a. Installation of inlet gas slug catcher
b. Installation of inlet condensate separator
c. Installation of coalescer feed pumps
2. Construction of 3 booster compressors units
3. Construction of 2 acid gas removal (AGRU) with the capacity of 568mmscfd each
4. Construction of 2 hydrocarbon condensate stabilization unit with the capacity of 74mbd (raw condensate)
5. Construction of mercury removal & gas dehydration unit with the processing capacity of 523mmscfd (sweet gas)
B. Gas Compression Plant
1. Construction of 3 gas compression plants with the production capacity of 600mmscfd (raw gas) and 150mbd (condensate gas)
a. Installation of depressurizing vessel
b. Installation of HP/LP separator
2. Construction of associated utilities and infrastructure
a. Construction of fire water system
3. Construction of three 230kV gas-insulated substation (GIS)
a. Installation of 13.8kV switch gas
4. Construction of 2 operation support building at North & South Jafurah field
5. Installation of RO systems
a. Installation of water lines
b. Installation of water pumps and other utilities
C. Sulphur Utilities and Interconnecting Facility
1. Construction of inlet and export facilities
2. Installation of interconnecting pipe racks
3. Construction of sulphur recovery unit (SRU)
D. Export Pipeline Package
1. Laying of 24-inch and 14.75km C2+NGL Export Pipeline
2. Laying of 56-inch and 99.6km Sales Gas Export Pipeline
3. Laying of three sections Condensate Export Pipeline
a. Section-I: 36-inch and 99.5km pipeline
b. Section-II: 24-inch and 8.6km pipeline
c. Section-III: 36-inch and 126km pipeline
4. Installation of associated facilities
E. Upstream Pipelines and Wells Tie-In Package
1. Construction of 8 wellpads/32 wells
2. Laying of 8-inch, 60km flowlines
3. Installation of remote headers (East and West)
4. Laying of trunklines from remote headers to gas compression plant

Samsung Engineering has been appointed for processing plant (Package II) , Hyundai Engineering & Construction for utilities and interconnecting facilities(Package III), Saipem for upstream pipelines and wells tie-in(Package IV) as main contractors on the project.

The bid submission date has been further extended to April 30, 2020 on Upstream Pipelines and Wells Tie-Ins package. KBR is working as the FEED contractor on Storage, Loading and Tanker Loading package.

(CPP), L&T Hydrocarbons, Nesma and Partners, Dodsal, Gulf Consolidated Contractors, Saipem and Al Rashid Trading and Contracting are the PQ shortlisted companies. The bid evaluation is underway on package-3 and Hyundai E&C has emerged as the lowest bidders.

The bid evaluation process is ongoing on Export pipeline package with CPECC emerged as the lowest bidder. L&T and CAT Group as the second and third lowest bidders respectively. The bid evaluation is underway on package-2 and Samsung Engineering has emerged as the lowest bidder. A consortium of Hyundai E&C and Hyundai Engineering, Saipem, L&T and Technip are the second, third, fourth and fifth lowest bidders respectively.

ITB has been issued for the package-1 with the bid submission due on March 23, 2020. The bid submission has taken place on package-2 and the following five companies have submitted the bids: A consortium of Hyundai E&C and Hyundai Engineering, L&T Hydrocarbons, Saipem, Hyundai E&C and Technip FMC. The tender guarantee has been extended to March 10, 2020 on TCF package.
