NEOM - NEOM City Development Program
Saudi Arabian NEOM is undertaking the construction of the NEOM City Development Project in Tabuk Province, Saudi Arabia.
The project was established in the north-western region of Saudi Arabia and will include territory from within the Egyptian and Jordanian borders. It will be extended over 468km coastline along the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba and the total area will be 26,500km2.
NEOM aims to develop nine key economic sectors which are energy and water, mobility, biotech, food, technological and digital sciences, advanced manufacturing, media and media production, entertainment and living as NEOMâs foundation. It will be empowered entirely by renewable energy. The site will also become the main entrance to the King Salman Bridge, linking Asia and Africa, which will add to the zoneâs economic significance. It includes Royal Palaces, gathering hall, golf course, landscaping works and infrastructure, and utilities.
The current profile consists of NEOM airport, which will be built near the kingdomâs Tabuk area. It will be located 10km from Sharma, 75km from Daba and will be initially coordinated with Prince Sultan City. The airport is expected to feature a runway of 3,757 meters long at 151 degrees on one side and 331 degrees on the other.
This project is one of the initiatives included in the Saudi Giga Projects plan.
The US$500000 million project includes the following:

Japanâs SoftBank Group plans to invest in state-owned Saudi Electricity company and build the worldâs largest solar plant and robot in the zone. PIF is a partner in the companyâs $100bn Softbank Vision Fund, and has committed to invest as much as $45bn in the tech fund.
