MoPMR, Egypt/MoPB - Petrochemical Complex in Suez
Ministry of Petroleum, Egypt (MoP) in partnership with the Ministry of Public Business (MoPB) is planning to construct a petrochemical complex in Suez with the help of Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation.
The project aims at maximizing the utilization of 2.2 million tons per year of the diesel oil produced by the Suez refinery to produce 1 million tons of petrochemical products per year and 650,000 tons per annum (MTPA) of petroleum products.
The project involves the construction of a petrochemical complex in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, Suez governorate, Egypt.
The US$7,500 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of a petrochemical complex
2. Construction of a storage unit
3. Construction of a central control building
4. Construction of metering stations
5. Construction of a crude oil processing facility
6. Construction of a hydro-cracker unit
7. Construction of production unit
8. Installation of machinery and equipment
9. Installation of centrifuge
10. Installation of reactors
11. Installation of a catalyst system
12. Construction of other associated facilities
