GCPI - Al-Faw IWPP
General Company for Ports of Iraq (GCPI) is planning to undertake the construction of the Al Faw Power and Desalination Plant in the Basra Province of Iraq.
The US$4080 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of 3000MW power plant
2. Construction of a desalination plant with a capacity of 1,250,000m3/day
3. Construction of a substation
4. Construction of water purification plant
5. Installation of water transmission pipelines for the distribution of the desalinated water to the cities of the Basra Governorate
6. Construction of water tanks
7. Construction of warehouses building
8. Construction of medium voltage transformers plant
9. Installation of transformer
10. Laying of transmission lines
11. Associated facilities
