TengizChevrOil - Tengiz Oil Field Expansion
The Tengizchevroil (TCO), the Chevron-led venture is undertaking the future growth project (FGP) at the Tengiz oil field in Kazakhstan.
Gross production at Tengiz increased 75,000 barrels to 285,000 barrels of oil per day at year-end 2000 with the completion of a fifth processing train and implementation of gas handling debottlenecking projects. Development planning and engineering for future expansions at Tengiz are underway. Production is expected to ultimately reach 800 thousand barrels of oil per day.
The US$45,000 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of an oil stabilization unit
2. Construction of 50 new production wells
3. Construction of pipelines to carry the oil to processing units
4. Construction of two sour-gas compressors
5. Construction of four crude-oil storage tank
6. Construction of a monitoring station
7. Construction of switching manifolds
8. Modernization of the fire and gas detection systems
