Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) is undertaking the construction of two planned seawater treatment and transmission pipeline schemes known as "Project Wave" in Abu Dhabi, the UAE.

The third component entails the development of a centralized pumping station and in-field distribution network to disseminate treated water to water injection wells.

The US$5000 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of two seawater nanofiltration plants (954679m3/d)

2. Construction of pumping stations

3. Laying of transmission pipelines (approximately 450km)

4. Development of a centralized pumping station

5. Development of in-field distribution network to disseminate treated water to water injection wells

6. Construction of seawater intake and outfall

Mirfa Seawater Treatment Plant: Parsons Corporation and Fichtner Consulting Engineers have been working as consultants on the project and ILF Consulting Engineers have been working as technical consultants.

The firms that are likely to take the lead in the consortiums are Spain's Acciona Agua, France's Engie and Saudi Arabia's Vision Invest, while Japan's Marubeni Corporation is expected to bid alone on the Mirfa Seawater Treatment Plant project.
